On March 31, 2008, a new version 4.1 of VECTA access control management software was released with the following new features:
Features |
Description |
Client applications: |
|
| New masking and reactions subsystem | Security system administrators and users who don’t have specialized VBScript programming skills can now create macros, masks, and reactions in a new automation subsystem with a simple and friendly user interface. |
| View of the event acknowledgements | A new feature is introduced which allows to view operator-registered alarm acknowledgements not just in the Report Generator, but also from the alarm details dialog. Moreover, a reverse feature is implemented – a quick search for the original operator-acknowledged events. |
Hardware Drivers |
|
| Visitor/Escort mode | A new Visitor/Escort mode is implemented for access control management system based on the Apollo controllers, which allows to completely prevent unwanted movement of visitors and to give them a restricted access just to certain areas accompanied by the authorized personnel. |
| APB zone reset | A new command for anti-passback (APB) zone reset is introduced for Apollo and VertX controllers. This feature is especially useful on the initial stage of putting this entrance into operation when the reentry attempt events are generally fired due to the employees’ and visitors’ disorganization and forgetfulness. |
| Controllers reactivation command | A new feature which allows controllers to be manually reactivated was introduced to simplify the administrators overhead. This feature is implemented for both VertX and Apollo hardware. It is used on system start and also during the periodic planned maintenance. |
| VertX driver improvements | The several improvements were made to the VertX hardware driver as follows:
|
Database |
|
| Manual event deletion by type | Now you can manually issue a one-time event deletion command with filtering by event types. Not only the deletion of old events is now available to the administrator, but also the explicit specification of event types which are required/not required to be placed in the database for long-term storage is provided in order to optimize the database size. |
| Switching to InterBase 2007 | A new version of VECTA is designed to work with InterBase 2007. |
Operating systems |
|
| Windows Vista support | VECTA user files storage is compatible with the accepted Windows Vista standards beginning from v4.1. |
